I’m a college student in Chicago, IL. Going through some stuff, but finding my way just fine I suppose. I’ve lived in the Chicago area since 1992, reluctantly I’ve come to identify Chicago as my home which is truly relieving. Feeling comfortable in the place that I live is a priority of mine and I feel like I’m coming into my own as a citizen of this city, state and country. Only recently have I become interested in political science and philosophy–although I have to admit that so much of philosophy goes over my head–reading these has increased my understanding of motivations and generally why people act the way they do, and how they might act later. I’m and introvert, quiet mostly although I do have my loud “look at me everybody!” moments, I like to watch people and their interactions and reactions. My sense of humor ranges from bone dry to slap-stick style goofiness and in that respect I can laugh at just about anything, especailly my own misfortune. I’m finding that the universe unfolds in ways that don’t so much require us to understand it so much as cope with what happens in the moment and prepare for the immediate future, so I try not to take life and love overly seriously. That in and of itself is a task because I believe in astrology and feel that my personality is characteristic Scorpio; passionate and crazy, wild but insecure. The single most challenging part of my life now (and probably forever more) will be to find my voice as an artist. That’s what wakes me up in the morning, though, the idea that at any moment I may have an epiphany, some synapse might fire in my brain and my mind will clear–focus as the music or drawing flows from me to the empty space. I am a student for life; and I intend to spend the rest of my life learning how best to describe the world as I see it.
